Mike aka Gesaffelstein is a very talented young Parisian producer who’s about to make big (cold) waves in the techno scene. Sometimes introduced and The Hacker’s protégé, he has played alongside the likes of Dopplereffekt (one of his heroes), David Caretta and, Miss Kittin as is sort of an honorary member of the Grenoble techno scene. After three EPs on french indie labels Goodlife, OD Records and Zone Music, he’s about to release his VARIATIONS EP on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings. So let’s consider him in good hands.
Here’s the title track:
An accomplished remixer as well, his remix of Chateau Marmont’s ‘One Hundred Realities’ was the only proper club cut of the EP, and a well-noticed at that.
Even though he’s a very fun and likable bloke, there’s absolutely no room for irony or compromises in his music, and sometimes that’s a great thing.
The Variations EP drops Nov 9th on Turbo recordings (Turbo 093) - more info here: http://www.planet-turbo.com/?p=1080
